It should come as no surprise that African Americans permeate every facet of the broader American culture. However, we tend to disproportionately highlight the achievements made in sports and entertainment while ignoring the innumerable strides made in science, philosophy, and literature.

With this year’s 2023 Black History calendar we wish to stoke the flames of learning and curiosity. Our entries only touch the surface of these magnificent people. We hope what is offered here will inspire you to explore the expansive web of people, places, and events that comprise this very important facet of American and world history.
