Thankfully she had local supporters who enabled her to enroll at Juilliard School of Music in New York and pursue her dreams. After mastering the art form, Eunice became a renowned piano player in Atlantic City's nightclubs - a testament to hard work and dedication!\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIn an effort to separate her professional career from her family, she adopted the stage name of Nina Simone. Once she began singing alongside her own playing, a successful jazz vocalist was born and between 1958-1974 Simone recorded more than forty albums. Her music genre delicately intertwined classical pieces with pop tunes and gospel material - ultimately creating something beautifully unique that only Nina could deliver. In July 2009 Jonathan Green shifted his easel to a new home on Daniel Island, South Carolina, in order to be closer to his Lowcountry roots. Jonathan Green has received many honors and awards for his contributions in recording his cultural heritage through his art and his support of cultural and educational institutions throughout the South. One honor that touched him deeply was receiving the Elizabeth O’Neill Verner Governor’s Award for Lifetime Achievement in the arts awarded to him in 2010.
